Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of February 14, 2022, at 4:45 pm EST.

On Monday, health officials in Germany logged 28,630 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 12.5 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 70.6% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 127 Covid-related deaths for a total of 120,707 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Ontario, from March 1st bye bye green pass

TORONTO – The plan to ease the restrictions of Ontario continues quickly, which on Thursday, four days earlier than expected, will move to the next phase while from March 1st the vaccination passport against Covid-19 will be eliminated.

Time for web giants to “pay their fair share”

They have increasingly moved to government subsidy models through which federal funding has become essential to their survival. But there is increasing pressure on the Federal Government to act on the issue of news media remuneration.

Daily update of Ontario’s Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign

With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 31.3 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on February 14, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 18,265 vaccine doses on Sunday, down from 37,546 doses the day prior.

Political maxim: a week is a lifetime in politics

TORONTO – Suddenly, or so it seems, we are no longer talking about vaccines. That is not entirely true – we are talking about mandates and the relative effectiveness or futility vaccinations. For two years, as a willing public we have trusted our political-administrative and medical-scientific leadership to make the right choices. We complied. In the last two weeks that trust has snapped.
