Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide


Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of April 26, 2022, at 4:45pm EST.

On Tuesday, health officials in Germany logged 96,287 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 24.3 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 89.1% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 79 Covid-related deaths for a total of 135,061 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Nursing homes, the clash is served

TORONTO – Long-term care is the workhorse of the Conservatives, Liberals and NDP. Now, at the time of the promises in view of the June elections in Ontario, the three parties promise to heal the sector whose flaws have been laid bare by the Covid pandemic. Pandora’s box has been discovered: mistreatment, negligence and until today as many as 4,329 elderly people died in LTC.

Budget proposals may ignore contributor’s financial rights

TORONTO – Like everyone else, I will be watching for details in the upcoming budget; sorry, I meant the “costed” election platform to be presented by the current government. I will be looking for transparency and disregarding rhetoric. No, it will not be driven by partisanship but by purely selfish [legitimate] desires to protect my assets (such as they are) – home and pension.
