In Ontario 469 new infected and 18 more deaths
TORONTO – June 8, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,395,015 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 869 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 25,786 total deaths, 25 more than on Monday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,347,274. Ontario today reached 537,076 overall positives, an increase of 469 new cases compared to Monday. The total number of victims in Ontario has meanwhile risen to 8,887, with 18 more deaths than the previous day. The number of recovered people in the province rose to 520,811 or 1.010 more than the previous 24 hours. There are 133,706 cases so far registered in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 1,097 of the South African variant and 4,009 of the Brazilian variant.
today there were 621 people still in hospital, 481 of them in intensive care and 305 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing. There are 20 retirement and long-term homes that continue to record cases of Covid-19. today there were 15,320 elderly patients infected in total since the beginning of the emergency and 3,960 total deaths so far recorded among guests of the same facilities. Until today, 7,114 health workers were infected in the same nursing homes and 11 died.
The city of Toronto has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 168,306 positives today, with an increase of 130 cases compared to Monday. Meanwhile, there were 3,427 total deaths in the city, with 6 more new victims. 162,355 were found to be healed today. There were 717 people still in hospital, 209 in intensive care and 134 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing.
The York Region reached 52,230 total infections today, with 25 more positives than on Monday and 688 victims since the start of the pandemic, with one more death than the previous day. today, 51,246 people were recovered.
In the city of Vaughan, the total number of people who tested positive for Covid-19 was 21,636 today, with 12 more new infections than in the previous 24 hours. 272 deaths, with one more new death, recorded today.
In Woodbridge today there were 9,277 total cases of positivity since the Covid-19 pandemic started, 6,684 in Maple, 7,437 in Richmond Hill and 12,478 in Markham.
In the Peel Region today there were 110,297 coronavirus positives, 60 more than the last survey and 771 total victims, with one more death than on the last bulletin. There were 108,700 healings recorded in total, while 3,042 people were hospitalized.
In Mississauga, the total number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus was 39,849 today, 39 more than last Monday. Also in Mississauga were today 438 victims so far, with no more death recorded, while there were 39,038 people recovered from Covid-19 and 1,452 people so far hospitalized due to the coronavirus.
In Brampton the total number of people positive for Covid-19 was today 65,736 with 25 new cases of contagion more than on Monday. 312 confirmed deaths, with one more victim since the last bulletin, while 65,009 were found to be healed today.
