Status of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of May 30, 2021 at 4:20pm EST.

On Sunday, health officials in Ontario logged 1,033 new infections. This marks lowest single-day increase since March 6 when the province reported fewer than 1,000 cases. With more than 530,000 total confirmed cases since the onset of the pandemic, nearly 96% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 18 for a total of 8,744 fatalities.


Globally, over 170 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 153 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.5 million worldwide.

Spain has not updated the status of Covid-19 cases since May 28, 2021.
Portugal has not reported any fatalities since May 29, 2021.
