Health officials in India have recorded a record high of 89,019 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, the highest since September 2020. On Friday, India reported an additional 713 deaths attributable to the virus, numbers not seen since October 2020.

Globally, there have been over 130 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 105 million people have recovered and more than 2.8 million fatalities were attributable to Covid-19.
Spain has not updated case numbers since April 1, 2021.
