The Canadian parliament blames China for the Uighur genocide

Although most cabinet members were absent from voting. The House of Commons also explicitly blames for the country’s indiscriminate killings of Uighurs and other Turkish-speaking Muslims in China.

The said proposal was made in Parliament by the opposition Conservative Party. It said China’s state action in the Xinjiang region was tantamount to genocide in accordance with UN policy adopted in 1948. In addition to the Conservative members, a significant number of ruling Liberal party MPs voted in favour of the proposal. The final vote count showed that 266 MPs present voted without any opposition, only two MPs have remained officially absent. (more…)

test positive for Covid-19

The two tigers had been tested for Covid after one of them showed symptoms of the disease on February 1 and both tested positive on Friday. The zoo is working with local and state health authorities to try to pinpoint the source of the infection.

Un equipo de científicos canadienses dio a conocer algunos resultados prometedores respecto a un nuevo tratamiento potencial contra el Covid-19. Peginterferon-Lambda, un fármaco antiviral experimental, podría ser la próxima mejor herramienta en el tratamiento de pacientes con Covid-19.

Los resultados de Fase 2 de un ensayo clínico, publicado en The Lancet Respiratory Medicine, el 5 de febrero, sugieren que el tratamiento con el fármaco antiviral podría acelerar la recuperación de las personas infectadas con el virus. A medida que las comunidades trabajan para frenar la propagación comunitaria del Coronavirus esta noticia resulta alentadora. (more…)

Il riconoscimento commemora la Giornata mondiale della Radio, istituita dall’UNESCO (Organizzazione delle Nazioni Unite per l’educazione, la scienza e la cultura) e celebrata ogni anno il 13 febbraio. La Giornata mondiale della Radio intende sensibilizzare l’opinione pubblica e i media sull’importanza della radio. WRHU è la prima stazione gestita da studenti a ricevere questo onore. (more…)
