TORONTO – L’11 luglio del 1982, dopo la finale dei Mondiali, ero sul lungomare di Marina di Massa, ridente località della costa toscana nella quale vivevo all’epoca. Avevo dodici anni e la bandiera dell’Italia fatta all’uncinetto con l’aiuto di mia sorella (sì, mi aveva insegnato a fare l’uncinetto). Eravamo in migliaia, su quel viale a mare. Tutti azzurri. Una marea. Il gioco di parole calza a pennello, in questo caso! Esattamente 39 anni dopo, cioè l’altro ieri, ero su un altro viale, a quasi settemila chilometri di distanza e con un oceano di mezzo: Saint Clair Avenue West, Toronto. Samantalang makikita ang mahabang pila ay makikita na palaki nang palaki sa harap nang tindahan kanabis Armsterdam. Sa Toronto noon unang dagsa, sa pakiramdam mo ang grosaring tindahan lang ang nakabukas. Iyon at ang tindahan lang nang kanabis. TTC dá início à celebração do aniversário com exposições de fotos

Os clientes que viajem na TTC podem notar a instalação de exposições de fotos especiais em 12 estações selecionadas até ao fim da próxima semana. As apresentações comemoram os 100 anos da agência de transporte público.

No próximo dia 1 de setembro de 2021, a TTC vai celebrar 100 anos de operação do serviço em Toronto. As exposições fotográficas são as primeiras de uma série de eventos planeados para assinalar este marco histórico e estão a ser realizados em parceria com os Arquivos da Cidade de Toronto. (more…)

TTC kicks off anniversary celebration with photo exhibits

Customers traveling on the TTC may notice special photo exhibits being installed in 12 select stations over the next week. The displays commemorate the transit agency’s 100th anniversary.

On September 1, 2021, the TTC will celebrate 100 years of moving Toronto. The photo exhibits are the first in a series of events being planned to mark this historic milestone and are being done in partnership with the City of Toronto Archives.

John Tory anunciou esta quarta-feira (23 de junho) o lançamento da Toronto Youth Vaccine Engagement Strategy, uma parceria entre a cidade de Toronto e o Toronto Youth Cabinet (TYC). Em comunicado à imprensa, o presidente de Toronto disse que desde que o Ontário anunciou o alargamento da elegibilidade para os residentes com mais de 12 anos de idade “vimos uma resposta impressionante à vacinação juvenil”. Toronto launches Toronto Youth Vaccine Engagement Strategy to reach vulnerable youth

John Tory announced this Wednesday (June 23) the launch of Toronto Youth Vaccine Engagement Strategy, a partnership between the City of Toronto and the Toronto Youth Cabinet (TYC). In a press release, the Mayor of Toronto said that since Ontario extended eligibility to residents over 12 years of age, “we’ve seen an impressive response to youth vaccination”.

“Project Brisa”: Toronto Police seize $61M worth of drugs, 20 people charged

Twenty arrests and the seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana worth $61 million, in what Toronto police call the largest drug seizure in its history. This is the result of an investigation dubbed “Project Brisa” that lasted for six months focusing on an international drug-smuggling ring: over a thousand kilograms of drugs were transported to Canada from Mexico and California in the hidden compartments of trucks with modified trailers. He is a municipal trial Court Judge. He was recognized and awarded a plaque as one of the top ten fastest deciding judge in the Philippines. Sonuç olarak, 9 yasindaki minik oglan hariç hepsi hayatlarini yitirmisti.

Brampton man launches campaign calling for no more weed shops in the city

June 18 will mark the somber one-year anniversary of the horrific crash in Brampton that killed Karolina Ciasullo and her three innocent children. To honour the family and put an end to such deadly crashes caused by impaired drivers, 22-year old Brampton activist Cody Vatcher, spearheaded a campaign (nomoreweedshops.com) to put a freeze on pot shops opening in Brampton. Regent Park candlelight vigil remembers 215 Native Children and lost Muslim family

Toronto, June 10: More than 300 people attended a candlelight vigil at the Regent Park last night to remember the hundreds of children whose remains were found buried at a former residential school as well as four Muslims who were run down and killed in London by a truck Sunday evening in what police say was a hate-motivated attack.
