Danger variants, schools towards closure

[GTranslate]TORONTO – With infections constantly rising in Ontario schools and with the scare of Covid-19 variants increasingly making their way, some epidemiologists expect schools to close again soon. The infections reported on the government website in the last twenty-four hours are 137 – 99 students and 38 teachers – which bring the total to almost 10 thousand cases, 9,949 to be precise. Ontario to launch COVID-19 vaccine booking portal and call centre Monday

TORONTO – Online bookings for vaccination of over-80s in Ontario are kicking off. Starting at 8 am Monday morning, it will be possible for all people born in the year 1941 or before reserving the appointment for the first and second dose of vaccine by connecting to the provincial portal www.Ontario.ca/bookvaccine or by phone, calling the Provincial Vaccine Information Line at 1-888-999-6488. Already in recent weeks some local public health units – such as that of the York Region, Hamilton and Peel – had begun accepting reservations for the first dose of the vaccine. (more…)

Globally, there have been over 119 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data.  Since the start of the pandemic, over 96 million people have recovered and more than 2.6 million fatalities were attributable to the virus.
