DALLAS (Texas, Usa) – Si è svolto in Texas il consueto appuntamento tradizionale del Ferragosto Italiano. Pur con le ultime maggiori restrizioni per il Covid emanate dalle autorità della città di Dallas e con una giornata caratterizzata da avverse condizioni meteo, numerosi italiani ed Italo-americani hanno partecipato all’evento conviviale grazie all’iniziativa dell’Associazione dei Siciliani in Texas (Saat) e dal Comitato Tricolore per gli Italiani nel Mondo (CTIM), ospitati presso i locali di Cibo Divino Market. Canada will buy 40 million doses of Moderna vaccine

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of August 15, 2021, at 4:45pm EST.

On Sunday, health officials in Russia logged 21,624 new infections pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 6.6 million. Of the cumulative total, 89.1% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 816, bringing the total number of fatalities to 170,499.

Canada is preparing to welcome 20,000 Afghans but shut down its embassy in Kabul

OTTAWA – Canada will be a safe haven for more than 20,000 Afghans in a “vulnerable condition”: the Minister of Immigration, Marco Mendicino, announced it on Friday during a press conference with Foreign Minister Marc Garneau, Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan and the Minister of Women Maryam Monsef. A commitment that adds to the initiative put in place for previous thousands of Afghans who have worked for the Canadian government as interpreters and employees of the embassy. (more…)
