Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

On Sunday, health officials in India logged 43,368 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 32.7 million. Of the cumulative total, 97.5% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 527, bringing the total number of fatalities to 438,387.
TORONTO – After the no, no and still no repeated in recent weeks, Ontario Premier Doug Ford would be considering the implementation of a vaccination passport system. To report it to CTV News Toronto is a source very close to the provincial government who indicates the week just begun, as the one in which the official announcement of the creation of a system of vaccination certificates in the province will take place. According to the source who is well aware of the situation, the certificate “will be required in non-essential environments such as restaurants and cinemas”: mouth sewn instead on the parameters necessary to request the vaccination test and what form the certificate will take. With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 20.7 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. On August 29, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 29,695 vaccine doses on Saturday, down from 37,716doses the day prior.
TORONTO – They undulate, but remain around 700: this is now the average of new daily infections in Ontario. Today 740 were recorded, fewer than 835 on Saturday but up from 722 on last Sunday. The weekly average, to be precise, is now 688, compared to 564 a week ago. Of the new cases recorded today, 551 involve people who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 189 those who are fully vaccinated. (more…)
