Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

On Monday, health officials in Russia logged 34,325 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 8.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 84.7% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 998, bringing the total number of fatalities to 224,310.
Like other multilingual publications, the Corriere has been covering several education-related topics and issues that emerge from school boards across the province. One such matter is that of a 36-page report titled Investigation into Conduct during Board Meetings at the Halton Catholic District School Board. The investigation examined the conduct of trustees, with an expressed goal “to identify the causes of dysfunction and to make recommendations to address those causes”.
TORONTO – Crackdown on the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB). Unvaccinated teachers risk being suspended without pay if they do not undergo the mandatory rapid tests for Covid-19, and as of today, employees will not be able to enter the facilities owned by the school board. (more…)
With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 22.2 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on October 18, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 12,399 vaccine doses on Sunday, down from 23,011 doses the day prior.
