Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

On Tuesday, health officials in Poland logged 19,366 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 3.7 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 86.0% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 504 Covid-related deaths for a total of 86,205 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
TORONTO – There is little to be cheerful about. The number of Ontario schools with at least one active case of Covid-19 has reached its highest point so far this year, infections over the weekend have soared to 345 and the new Omicron variant has appeared for the first time in an educational institution in the province. TORONTO – Just take a few more swabs and immediately the number of new Covid-19 cases skyrockets: 928 registrations today in Ontario out of a total of 26,000 tests processed, with the positivity rate reaching 3.8% that is the highest percentage since the end of May (yesterday, with 25,981 tests and 887 cases, the rate was 3.5%). With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 24.0 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on December 6, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 60,631 vaccine doses on Monday, up from 39,472 doses the day prior.
