Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

On Tuesday, health officials in Spain logged 14,641 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 11.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 87.7% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 119 Covid-related deaths for a total of 99,883 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
TORONTO – In all the wars of the last century there have been images destined to remain etched in the collective memory. Photos that shake public opinion, shots capable of capturing the moment of the turning point, or the suffering of a people, or the absurdity of war.
TORONTO – Despite the unknown future – no one knows what Covid-19 will hold for us in the months to come – easing restrictions has begun around the world. Since today, in Ontario the vaccination passport is no longer required in most restaurants, gyms and cinemas while nightclubs, sports clubs and concert halls can eliminate capacity limits. TORONTO – With the arrival of data not provided by some hospitals over the weekend, the number of patients hospitalized for (or with) Covid-19 in Ontario rises: 914 those present today, against 849 on Monday and 842 on Sunday. 278 those in intensive care, one less than in the previous 24 hours. However, the number of infected in hospital remains under one thousand. (more…)
With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 31.7 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on March 1, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 16,438 vaccine doses on Monday, up from 10,810 doses the day prior.
