Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of April 28, 2022, at 4:15pm EST.

On Thursday, health officials in Germany logged 95,041 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 24.5 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 96.8% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 185 Covid-related deaths for a total of 135,554 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

York-Simcoe: a “safe-haven” for the Progressive Conservatives


Created in 1999, the constituency of York-Simcoe is situated on the south shore of Lake Simcoe. It covers part of the Regional Municipality of York and encompasses the towns of Georgina, Bradford West Gwillimbury, East Gwillimbury and part of the Township of King. The riding also includes part of the County of Simcoe and the Indigenous community of the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nations Indian Reserve.

Another 21 victims and active cases still decreasing in Ontario but not in Quebec

TORONTO – The “swing” of Covid hospitalizations continues: one day they drop, the next day they increase, and so on. Today in Ontario is the day of the decline: from the 1,734 yesterday to the 1,661 today. 202 patients in intensive care compared to 211 on Wednesday. The positive note is that there is a constant good data (at least so far) and it is that of the decline in active and known cases: today 31,464 against 31,675 on Wednesday (32,747 on Tuesday, 33,905 on Monday and 34,520 on Sunday).
