On Tuesday, health officials in Bangladesh logged 11,525 new infections, the highest single day increase since the onset of the pandemic. Of the cumulative 966,406 confirmed positive cases, 87.4% are considered recovered. Since yesterday, Covid-related deaths increased by 163, one less than the record high reported the day prior.

On Sunday, health officials in Poland logged 38 new infections, the lowest daily increase throughout the whole pandemic. Of the cumulative 2.8 million confirmed positive cases, 92.1% are considered recovered. Since yesterday, Covid-related deaths increased by 1, bringing the country’s total fatalities to 75,085.

That is what is driving the momentum in the province’s “Roadmap to Reopen”. To further that agenda, starting July 5 at 8am, youth aged 12-17 can book an accelerated second dose vaccine appointment.

Of the cumulative 5.5 million confirmed positive cases, 90.5% are considered recovered. Since yesterday, Covid-related deaths increased by nearly 697, bringing the country’s total fatalities to 137,262.

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of June 29, 2021 at 4:25pm EST.

On Tuesday, health officials in Spain logged 7,091 new infections, the highest single day increase since early May. The total number of confirmed positive cases approach 3.8 million. Of the cumulative total, 94.7% are considered recovered. Since yesterday, Covid-related deaths increased by 40, bringing the country’s total fatalities to 80,829.

Globally, over 181 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 166 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.9 million worldwide.

Bangladesh has not updated the status of Covid-19 cases since June 28, 2021.

On Monday, health officials in the Philippines logged 5,604 new infections. The total number of confirmed positive cases now surpass 1.4 million. Of the cumulative total, 94.6% are considered recovered. Since yesterday, Covid-related deaths increased by 84, bringing the country’s total fatalities to 24,456.

Globally, over 181 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 166 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.9 million worldwide.

Poland has not recorded any Covid-related deaths on June 28, 2021.

Ontario appoints Task Force to help empower women in the economy

Covid-19’s massive disruption to employment has had a significant impact on the economy. What is troubling is that women appear to be more affected by pandemic-related changes in the labour market than men. Ontario aims to change that.

On June 25, the provincial government announced new measures, through the creation of Ontario’s Task Force on Women and the Economy to help break down barriers women face in the economy.

Peel Regional Police considers “matter closed” in Brampton Council-Authorized Investigation


On June 17, the city of Brampton issued a press release updating the status of the Council-authorized investigation. The matter pertained to a substantive complaint letter, addressed to Brampton Council, received on April 22, 2021, involving a number of allegations including workplace misconduct, discrimination, improper hiring practices, destruction of information, harassment and procurement breaches.
