GTA and Southern Ontario, gasoline breaks new record at $ 214.9 per litre

TORONTO – Gasoline prices are skyrocketing. The price increases for fuels do not stop, on the contrary they reach new records. Today pump prices reached a record $214.9 per liter in GTA and most of southern Ontario. And the day before, Saturday, they had touched $2.11 per liter. An unstoppable race to the top that infuriates powerless motorists in the face of the increases that are now almost the order of the day.

The “Ford factor” breaks into the election campaign, Conservatives ahead in the polls

TORONTO – With the Conservatives strengthening their lead over the Liberals, the “Ford factor” breaks into the campaign. The premier of Ontario, after a long silence that lasted more than five weeks, returned – tanned – in front of the cameras on Wednesday to present the vaccination passport that will come into force on September 22, two days after the federal vote. Ontario over 700 cases, Alberta breaks through one thousand

TORONTO – They undulate, but remain around 700: this is now the average of new daily infections in Ontario. Today 740 were recorded, fewer than 835 on Saturday but up from 722 on last Sunday. The weekly average, to be precise, is now 688, compared to 564 a week ago. Of the new cases recorded today, 551 involve people who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 189 those who are fully vaccinated.  (more…)

Italy wins 4×100 and karate and breaks its Olympic medal record

 

TOKYO – 6 August 2021, another historic day for Italian sport. In the men’s 4×100, with 37 “50 the Azzurri win gold in front of Great Britain (37” 51) and Canada (37 “70). Patta, Jacobs, Desalu and Tortu win a fantastic Olympic gold medal and for the Italia Team, after the other victories today (including gold in karate with Luigi Busà), is the 38th medal, an absolute record at the Olympic Games, which improves the 36 podiums obtained from the Azzurri’s expeditions of Los Angeles 1932 and Rome 1960.
