Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – Another 11 victims related to Covid-19, today, in Ontario: the total number of deaths from pandemics in the province rises to 13,304. But the positivity rate still drops: today the Ontario analysis laboratories processed 11,234 tests detecting 1,013 cases, so the positivity rate drops to 6.4% compared to 7.2% yesterday and 8, 3% seven days ago. It is the lowest since last December 15, 2021, when it was at 6%. →
TORONTO – Another 16 deaths related to Covid-19, today, in Ontario: the number of victims in the province since the beginning of the pandemic rises to 13,099. In recent weeks, the number of deaths has been particularly high: 108 in the past seven days and 467 in the past thirty days. →
TORONTO – Slight drop in hospitalizations today in Ontario, but still many deaths: 14, bringing the total number of victims related to Covid-19, from the beginning of the pandemic, in Ontario, to 13,034.
TORONTO – The “swing” of Covid hospitalizations continues: one day they drop, the next day they increase, and so on. Today in Ontario is the day of the decline: from the 1,734 yesterday to the 1,661 today. 202 patients in intensive care compared to 211 on Wednesday. The positive note is that there is a constant good data (at least so far) and it is that of the decline in active and known cases: today 31,464 against 31,675 on Wednesday (32,747 on Tuesday, 33,905 on Monday and 34,520 on Sunday). →
TORONTO – Slight decline in Covid hospitalizations in Ontario: after the impressive surge of the previous 24 hours, today there were 1,332 hospitalized against 1,366 on Tuesday. 182 inpatients in intensive care: yesterday they were 190. →
