Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

This is what NOW Magazine did in publishing its official apology to the Corriere Canadese and its publisher Joe Volpe for an article by Enzo DiMatteo published in the magazine in March 2021. An article in which the newspaper and the former minister were accused of homophobia, of continuous and incessant anti-gay attacks and of having conducted out a campaign of intimidation towards the LGBTQ2 community. All without foundation and with serious commercial damages.

Corriere Canadese is in the final stages of developing a Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible in part, through funding by Canadian Heritage.
It is a “proof of concept” taking advantage of the Collective Initiatives Program under Canadian Heritage and seeks to show commitment to Canadian journalism’s development aimed at Canada’s growing Multilingual sector by utilizing human resources available in the Multilingual publications. The last Census, in fact, underscores the need for such journalism in our diverse peoples’ integration process: fully 22% of Canadians speak a language other than English or French at home. →
