Brampton man launches campaign calling for no more weed shops in the city

June 18 will mark the somber one-year anniversary of the horrific crash in Brampton that killed Karolina Ciasullo and her three innocent children. This week, the City of Toronto is beginning a pilot project to test the collection of dog waste in street litter bins. The first phase of the pilot will last three months and includes ten bins adjacent to parks and in areas with a high concentration of dogs. (more…)

Toronto, a sanctuary city for immigrants from around the world, will provide vaccination to its residents without Ontario Health Insurance Plan

On April 30, the city of Toronto announced that it was partnering with the FCJ Refugee Center and Access Alliance to bypass the official provincial OHIP card-number based road to receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.


Until now, it has not been possible for people without an Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) card or those with expired cards i.e., so called “undocumented workers” to register for the vaccination. (more…)

The City of Toronto will again paint circles on the grass at Trinity Bellwoods Park to encourage people to practise physical distancing while using the park. Installation work begins this week depending on weather conditions – the paint requires dry, sunny weather to cure properly. (more…)

City of Toronto conducting fifth Street Needs Assessment of people experiencing homelessness in Toronto

Starting on April 19, the City of Toronto will be conducting Toronto’s fifth “Street Needs Assessment” (SNA). The SNA is a city-wide, point-in-time count and survey of people experiencing homelessness in Toronto, led by Shelter, Support and Housing Administration (SSHA), in collaboration with community partners in the homelessness sector.
