Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – Following Monday’s summary of the “educational environment” at the TCDSB, several trustees and Senior staff from Boards of Education in the greater GTA weighed in “on background” to inform us that the situation may be worse than what we described.
In their view, some “bad apples” who have been given “an easy ride” are putting the entire publicly funded school system (Catholic and Public) at risk.

TORONTO – Who would ever have thought that one could look to the warnings of a former Senator (Conservative), Majory LeBreton, in a federal Leadership race, for lessons on educational goals. The institution may fall into the wrong hands, she says, then woe is us.
TORONTO – The school year is finally over. We have a brief reprieve from the deceit that has passed for learning these last two and a half years.
TORONTO – Ontario Premier Doug Ford presented his cabinet to Ontario’s 43rd Parliament. Few news, many reconfirmations. The new cabinet includes seven women – down from nine in the previous one – out of a total of over 30 appointed (including attorneys general). Ford has also given a role to his nephew Michael (in the pic), a rookie MPP. Lisa MacLeod and Ross Romano are out.
