Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – The strike action of the PSAC (Public Service Alliance of Canada), which mobilizes over 155,000 federal civil servants throughout the country, intensifies: today, the “feds” increased the presence of pickets, particularly in Ottawa, limiting access to federal buildings and temporarily halting traffic on an inter-provincial bridge. TORONTO – Russia’s war against Ukraine worries the whole world. The fear that the conflict could spread to other countries hovers in the air ever stronger. Nearly three-quarters of Canadians believe NATO allies should prepare for military intervention even though half hope for a diplomatic resolution.
ORLANDO (Florida) – “I see the fanatics of ‘cancel culture’, not only in the violent squares but also in the institutions, remove statues, modify books and cartoons, change the names of the streets out of a sense of guilt towards a common history that they would like to rewrite.
