US bishop strips Jesuit school of ‘Catholic’ status for defiantly flying ‘pride’ and BLM flags: Catholicism increasingly divided in North America

There is a deep division in Catholicism in North America, and this dichotomy is particularly evident in schools, both in Canada and in the USA. 

As reported by LifeSiteNews, the Bishop of the Diocese of Worcester (Massachusetts, USA) – in the pic above, from Twitter – , has removed the “Catholic” status from a Jesuit-run school after it refused to heed his orders not to fly the LGBT rainbow flag and the Black Lives Matter flag.  (more…)

Belarus has forced an Irish passenger plane flying from Greece to Lithuania to land in Minsk

On Sunday, an unprecedented situation took place, when – according to international press agencies – an Irish airline Ryanair flight FR4978 flying from Athens in Greece to Vilnius in Lithuania was “forced” to land in Belarus. The plane was in the airspace of Belarus only about 10 km (6 miles) from the border with Lithuania when it changed route and turned towards Minsk, the capital of Belarus. (more…)

Flying Pride flags at HCDSB schools

Tonight, trustees at the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) will hold a special meeting to discuss the motion to fly the Pride flag during the month of June.

At last week’s meeting (April 20), the Board heard from five delegates regarding a motion titled “Supporting our Diverse School Community”. Trustee Brenda Agnew initially presented the motion at an earlier Board meeting on April 6.
