Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TOKYO – ‘Azzurri’ athletes have won a record breaking 40 medals for Italy, including 10 golds, more than traditional European sports powerhouses Germany and France, and even more than the 36 Italy had previously won at Los Angeles 1936 and at their home Olympics in Rome in 1960, their previous best mark. The provincial government announced this Tuesday (June 22) that the City of London will be hosting the 2024 Ontario Summer Games and will be provided with a hosting grant of up to $1 million. The 2020 games, which was originally scheduled to take place in London and postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will not proceed. At a time when Ontario seeks to reopen safely and gradually, the provincial government justifies its decision to protect the health and well-being of all Ontario residents, including all participants, volunteers and staff involved in hosting the Ontario Games.
