Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
Essex, a provincial electoral district in Southwestern Ontario, appears to be a riding poised for change. Current MPP Taras Natyshak has represented the constituency for the NDP since elected to office in 2011. He was re-elected in 2018 with 47.9% of the electorate (26,134 votes).
TORONTO – With the televised debates Erin O’Toole had the chance to close the game, but evidently was not able to take advantage of the opportunity. This is the key to reading that derives from the analysis of all the polls carried out in Canada in September, which highlight how in the first week of this month the Conservatives had consolidated a good margin of advantage over the Liberals, but how, at the same time, after the double confrontation between the leaders of the parties this advantage has been dissipated. At this moment, after a phase of substantial statistical parity between the Conservative Party and the Liberal Party, it is Justin Trudeau who has returned to play the role of front runner in view of the vote on September 20. The construction of the long-awaited Scarborough Subway Extension is finally underway as the Ontario government broke ground on the project Wednesday (June 23) during an official ceremony attended by premier Doug Ford, Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney, and Mayor John Tory. (more…)
