Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
MILAN – A tourist flight with eight people on board crashed, flying over the area of San Donato Milanese, in the province of Milan, Italy. The aircraft caught fire and crashed into an empty building under renovation. Unfortunately, the occupants (8) of the plane all died. (more…)
TOKYO – ‘Azzurri’ athletes have won a record breaking 40 medals for Italy, including 10 golds, more than traditional European sports powerhouses Germany and France, and even more than the 36 Italy had previously won at Los Angeles 1936 and at their home Olympics in Rome in 1960, their previous best mark. In the face of declining Covid disease statistics around the world, the United States has decided to make it easier for its citizens to travel to nearly 60 countries.
The US Department of State decided to lower the so-called “travel warnings” for travel to many countries, including among others Canada, Poland, Germany, Italy, France, Mexico, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. (more…)
