Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

A key riding in this election is Mississauga East–Cooksville. It is one that could prove to be a tough competition between the PC and the Liberals.
The constituency was created in 2003 from parts of Mississauga Centre and Mississauga East ridings. As its name suggests, the district encompasses an eastern portion of the City and includes the community of Cooksville.

A male cyclist suffers critical life threatening injuries after he was struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning. Following the incident, Constable Heather Cannon of Peel Regional Police, while on scene, told the Corriere that the cyclist, a man in his late 40s, was struck around 5:45am. He was transported to a trauma centre and the status of his condition remains unknown.

TORONTO – When it comes to pursuing post secondary education, typically, most people focus on academics. Peel Police continue to hold the scene a day after a fire broke out early Tuesday morning at MP Peter Fonseca’s federal constituency office in Mississauga. Police confirm the “incident is deemed suspicious and believed to be targeted”. (more…)
Mississauga residents are still recovering after digging out of the first major snowfall in 2022. During the weekly press conference, Mayor Bonnie Crombie confirmed that many parts of the city experienced an accumulation of 45 cm of snow, the most in a single day since 1944. While residents went straight to work digging out their driveways and walkways, many would have to wait days until city plows dug out their street. (more…)

Police reported the arrest of two teenagers suspected of burning a rainbow flag after a video of the incident circulated on social media earlier this month. Investigators from the 12th Division Criminal Investigative Bureau, Region of Peel, completed an investigation that began after a video of a rainbow flag being burned on the ground by students at a school circulated on social media. TORONTO – Una grande folla si è radunata martedì sera per una manifestazione pro-palestinese nella Celebration Square di Mississauga mentre la violenza continua in Medio Oriente. I manifestanti hanno detto che volevano far capire cosa provano i palestinesi durante l’escalation del conflitto israelo-palestinese. “Nel mio paese le persone vengono uccise o bombardate ed è come se a nessuno importasse – ha detto la dimostrante Sara Abu Hattab – è come se i diritti umani non esistano quando si parla della Palestina”.
