Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – The disappearance of Panfilo Colonico, the Italian-Canadian kidnapped on Friday afternoon by an alleged “commando” from his restaurant in Ecuador and disappeared into thin air is a real “whodunit”. The 49-year-old man was taken by two people, armed and dressed as policemen, with machine guns in hand and with two accomplices waiting for them outside the restaurant “Il Sabore Mio” in Guayaquil, in the Province of Guayas, in Ecuador. TORONTO – One day after the first report of absence rates in Ontario schools and no longer of Covid infections, it is groping in the dark. The effectiveness of this new and somewhat controversial strategy decided by the province with the return of students to the classrooms, is questioned or rather rejected on all fronts.
The gray whale sighted in the Mediterranean is a “puppy” and was not born in the Atlantic but in the Pacific, from which it moved away, perhaps ending up getting lost. This is the latest hypothesis formulated by the researchers of the Tethys Institute, who, together with the Italian Coast Guard, were able to establish exactly the size of Wally: this is the name of the gray whale that has been moving in Italian waters for two weeks.
