Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – The number of new cases in Ontario continues to decrease: today 610, down from 715 on Sunday, although up from 600 a week ago. The seven-day moving average of new infections is now 711, down four units from last Monday and, with 23,864 tests processed in the past 24 hours (Sunday was 29,906), the provincial-level positivity rate is now 2.7%, down from 3.1% last Monday. →
TORONTO – The trend now seems to be the same: new daily cases between 700 and 800, the vast majority of which in unvaccinated people. Ontario recorded 715 new cases (and 6 deaths) today, with the seven-day moving average of new cases now standing at 709, down from Saturday (719) when there were 821 infections. →

KABUL – Italy and Afghanistan: faraway, so close.
