“Project Brisa”: Toronto Police seize $61M worth of drugs, 20 people charged

Twenty arrests and the seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana worth $61 million, in what Toronto police call the largest drug seizure in its history. This is the result of an investigation dubbed “Project Brisa” that lasted for six months focusing on an international drug-smuggling ring: over a thousand kilograms of drugs were transported to Canada from Mexico and California in the hidden compartments of trucks with modified trailers. Kipling Transit Hub: $73 million project completed

The completion of the new Kipling Transit Hub reinforces and modernizes the local infrastructure that will serve the East Mississauga and West Toronto areas.

The renovated terminal, a $73 million project, which has been under construction since April 2018, provides customers with full access to the new and improved station that integrates MiWay bus service, access to the TTC subway and bus, and GO rail and future GO bus service. (more…)

This week, the City of Toronto is beginning a pilot project to test the collection of dog waste in street litter bins. The first phase of the pilot will last three months and includes ten bins adjacent to parks and in areas with a high concentration of dogs. (more…)
