Scientists stumbling in the dark: where is the credibility?

TORONTO – Just so that no-one gets the wrong impression, I am considered fully vaccinated for Covid-19, and have already had the now seemingly obligatory booster for greater efficacy. Nor am I ideologically or philosophically an “ant-vaxxer”. Neither I nor the Corriere are in the business of disseminating bad information, untruths or conspiracy theories – especially as they relate to the health and wellbeing of the population, irrespective of race, colour, sex, age.

TORONTO – Anthony Rota challenges Justin Trudeau. The battleground is the controversial story surrounding the dismissal of two virologists of Chinese origin from the National Microbiology Laboratory, a maximum-security laboratory in Winnipeg where lethal viruses such as Ebola are studied. This tug-of-war, which has been developing for several weeks, has gone a little undertrack but is likely to lead to a serious institutional crisis between the legislative and executive powers here in Canada in the near future. Chernobyl, the alarm of Ukrainian scientists: “35 years later there is a risk of a new accident”

KIEV – 35 years after the disaster, Reactor 4 of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant seems to be “awakened”. And according to the scientists there is the risk of a new accident, albeit less serious than the one that occurred on the night of April 26, 1986 when the plant exploded, releasing radioactive clouds that also reached Europe and the eastern coast of North America.
