Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – It’s summer time: the call of barbecues (or, for the lucky ones, Caribbean beaches) is too strong and even “Chinese interference” can wait. Thus, on Wednesday, as if nothing had happened, all the parties (including those of the opposition, “hard and pure” until the day before yesterday) agreed to close the doors of the House of Commons starting next Wednesday: we’ll talk about it again in September. TORONTO – Positive signs from the coronavirus front: the number of Covid-19 infected patients admitted to the Ontario intensive care units dropped to 119 today, the lowest level recorded since last summer. The last time ICU hospitalizations had been this low was on August 16, 2021, when the same number of patients was registered. (more…)

Lower case counts, improvements in key health indicators and higher vaccination rates are the basis for the easing of further restrictions. That is what is driving the momentum in the province’s “Roadmap to Reopen”. To further that agenda, starting July 5 at 8am, youth aged 12-17 can book an accelerated second dose vaccine appointment.
