Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – Giovedì scorso è stato proiettato al Tiff di Toronto “Uccellacci e uccellini” di Pier Paolo Pasolini. In occasione del centenario dalla nascita del grande regista, il film è stato restaurato dalla Cineteca di Bologna, in collaborazione con Compass Film e Istituto Luce Cinecitta, e presentato come “classico fuori mostra” a Venezia lo scorso marzo; quella della settimana scorsa è stata invece la prima assoluta in Nord America…

TORONTO – There is a gaping hole in front of Roy Thomson Hall. Where there was once a long white pitched-up tent where the media elbowed each other to get a word in edge-wise to famous celebrities as they graced the red carpet, there now stand dog walkers picking up poop in David Pecaut Square. It is quiet. No screaming fans, no flash photography. But all is not lost. (more…)
