Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

TORONTO – L’Ontario ha riportato ieri oltre 400 nuovi casi di Covid-19 e 3 decessi. 409, per la precisione, le nuove infezioni, rispetto alle 321 di mercoledì ma comunque in calo rispetto alle 413 di una settimana fa. On Thursday, health officials in Russia logged 40,096 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 8.3 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 86.6% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 1,159 Covid-related deaths for a total of 235,057 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
With the cost of living on the rise, more Canadians are turning to food banks for support. According to a new report, HungerCount 2021 by Food Banks Canada, in March of 2021, more than 1.3 million Canadians visited food banks. Nationally, the demand for food banks increased by 20% compared to March 2019, the steepest rise since the 2008 economic recession.
TORONTO – Covid-19 and school. The bond, this year, seems to be stronger than in 2020. It is the numbers that give us the picture of the situation: last year at the end of October, 1,966 cases were detected in public schools since the beginning of the school year. This year the infections in the same period of time are as many as 4,454.
