Thunder Bay — Atikokan: Italians may hold the key in a close 2-way vote

The provincial electoral district of Thunder Bay – Atikokan (TBA) is situated just west of Thunder Bay – Superior North along the north shore of Lake Superior. Located about 1,600km northwest of the capital, by car it would take about 18 hours (nonstop) to reach Ottawa.

The district covers an area of 25,600 square km (about the same size as Sicily). It encompasses the town of Atikokan and the south side of the City of Thunder Bay. The oddly shaped riding dips south to the Canada/US boundary. (more…)

Almost 800 hospitalized: “Ontario in the sixth wave”

TORONTO – Ontario is in the sixth wave of the pandemic. An epidemiologist, Dr. Isaac Bogoch, specialist in infectious diseases, says so, but above all the numbers seem to say it: in a week, hospitalizations have increased by 23% and at the moment there are 790 patients with Covid-19 present in the hospitals of the province, compared to 655 just 24 hours earlier and 639 a week ago.  (more…)
