MISSISSAUGA – Chanting slogans in support of “work-life balance,” and holding signs and flags, a group of Ontario government employees demonstrated today outside their office building in Mississauga, while other colleagues did the same in locations such as Kingston and Peterborough. The reason for the protests was to oppose the Ontario government’s decision to mandate a full-time return to the office, putting an end to the “hybrid” work model introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

REGINA – Tragedy for an Italian-Canadian family in Regina, Saskatchewan, a few days before Christmas: 11-year-old Henry Losco has died after a carbon monoxide leak in the apartment where he lived with his father, Sergio (originally from Avellino, Italy), and his mother, Marina Hills (from Creston, British Columbia). It happened in downtown Regina, on December 19.
TORONTO – A growing number of professionals in Canada are considering a job change in 2026. According to new research from consulting and recruitment firm “Robert Half” (here), about one third of employed workers (33 per cent) plan to look for a new position in the first half of the year, up from 26 per cent recorded in the summer of 2025.
