TORONTO – Two months ago, on 12nd November, Diwali festivities turned violent in a parking lot close to the Westwood Mall in Malton, in between the cities of Mississauga and Brampton: after transforming the car park into a sort of waste dump, with remains of fireworks abandoned on the ground, a group of people began throwing these objects at another group, with the risk of damages and injuries. TORONTO – According to data collected in October 2023 by Health Quality Ontario (a provincial agency that monitors health standards), patients admitted to Ontario hospitals spent an average of almost 22 hours waiting in the emergency room for an inpatient bed and only 23% of patients were admitted to hospital via the emergency room within the hospital itself within target time of 8 hours.
VATICAN CITY – Had it been said by any pro-life or “anti-gender” activist, no one would have paid any attention. But when the author is Pope Francis, the perception takes on a weighty tone. Affirmations that “surrogacy is regrettable” and that “gender theory (ideology) is very dangerous” will inevitably take on an international political importance. All the more so because the Pope making these unequivocal and categorical declarations is not just any Pontiff. It is the same Pope who, just over a month ago, decided that LGBT+ and transgender people could be godfathers/godmothers and witnesses at the Sacraments of baptisms and weddings; moreover, stated that children of trans or homosexual parents could also be baptized.
