There is the ever-present meal to surpass the previous years’ in quality and abundance; music to entice “the tripping of the light fantastic” and the celebration of success achieved or vested in youth for later achievement…

Associazioni e organizzazioni socio-culturali, singolarmente o in “federazioni”, si incontrano per rafforzare i legami familiari o quelli con la città d’origine. Non mancano mai i pranzi, che superano quelli degli anni precedenti in qualità e abbondanza; la musica che invoglia a “far vibrare la luce fantastica” e la celebrazione del successo raggiunto o donato ai giovani per i successi futuri…
TORONTO – Un mio ex collega, amico, ora scomparso, veniva spesso a Toronto. Perché, come diceva lui per motivi di lavoro, “se non esistesse, dovremmo inventarla”…
TORONTO – A former colleague, now deceased, friend of mine would come to Toronto, often. Because, in his words, for business reasons “if it did not exist, we would have to invent it”. The city is a meeting place for people who “make things happen”, who report the outcomes, distinguish between what is desirable or not and who promote the positives as a natural outcome of human engagement – economic and cultural. It is a true “hub”. The city once had a reputation as “Toronto the Good”, and it was not simply because of the number of churches.
TORONTO – Canadians have waited with “bated breath” for a federal budget since April of 2024. “The Budget”, once presented, in the House of Commons, debated and approved (with or without amendments) serves as authority to tax and spend the people’s money (ours) in the interests of the country (ours).
