Last week of verbal attacks before the election

TORONTO – By this time next week, we will know whether Canada will have decided that “a new” individual/party will shape the Executive Council of the Parliament of Canada. The candidates for that privilegehave made their case and are in the process of solidifying that position with costed policy platforms and by lists of “credible” (in their view) third party patrons encouraging the electorate to do the same. 

Debate? What debate?

TORONTO – This being Easter weekend, I am inclined to be more generous than usual about our society, culture, political governance infrastructure and the individuals who propose to lead it. Forgive me if, in so doing my levity comes across as dismissive and condescending – it is not my intent.

Why debates should matter

TORONTO – This is holy week for Judeo-Christians in Canada. For Catholic Christians Good Friday is the holiest day of the Christian calendar. Yet, it will kick off the most serious last week of contemplation for qualities in leadership that as citizens we expect will define our interests and advance them to our satisfaction.
