Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – When it comes to pursuing post secondary education, typically, most people focus on academics. However, campus life and the world beyond also factor into one’s choice in their post secondary education journey. For many, it may also mean moving to a new city or town. With that in mind, Mississauga, comes in as one of the top ten university cities in Canada.
Relying on Swiss IQAir’s information platform, the 2020 World Air Quality Report shows, South and East Asian locations emerge as the most polluted globally. Among them Bangladesh, China, India, and Pakistan share 49 of the 50 of the most polluted cities worldwide, Dhaka as second worst ranking, while wildfires and dust storms linked to increasing global temperatures as part of climate change as well as agricultural practices.
TORONTO – No certainty but many unknowns. It is a real leap in the dark that the students of Ontario are preparing to do tomorrow when, for the first time after the Christmas holidays, schools will reopen amid a thousand doubts.
TORONTO – Today’s news is not in the number of new Covid-19 cases recorded (627, down from 741 on Sunday but up from 552 a week ago), but in the vaccination status of the majority of the infected. Of today’s infections in Ontario, in fact, 286 concern fully vaccinated people, 282 unvaccinated people, 36 concern people with unknown vaccination status and 23 with a dose of the vaccine. Thus, for the first time, infections in vaccinated people outnumbered those in unvaccinated individuals. (more…)
TORONTO – The school year has just begun and there are already several cases of Covid-19: precisely 189, distributed among students and staff.
