Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
MAZARA DEL VALLO (Trapani) – Tomorrow, Tuesday 26 October, Denise Pipitone would turn 21. She would, because no one knows what happened to that little girl who disappeared on 1 September 2004 from Mazara del Vallo, a town in the province of Trapani, in Sicily. Since then, investigations, trials, appeals, searches, all without the desired results: to find Denise or, at least, to know the truth about what happened that day in the small Sicilian village where everyone knows each other. MAZARA DEL VALLO (Trapani) – Domani, martedì 26 ottobre, Denise Pipitone compirebbe 21 anni. Compirebbe, perché nessuno sa che fine abbia fatto quella bambina scomparsa il 1° settembre del 2004 da Mazara del Vallo, un paese in provincia di Trapani, in Sicilia. Da allora indagini, processi, appelli, ricerche, tutto senza i risultati sperati: ritrovare Denise o, quantomeno, sapere la verità su quanto accadde quel giorno nel piccolo borgo siciliano dove tutti si conoscono. MAZARA DEL VALLO (Trapani) – She has launched many appeals in the last seventeen years, since that September 1st when her little Denise, only 4 years old, disappeared from Mazara del Vallo, in Sicily (Italy). Now the mother, Piera Maggio, addresses her directly and does so on social media, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, with a message that moves the whole of Italy. (more…)
