Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – The Covid “swing” continues its run, between ups and downs of ordinary hospitalizations and intensive care: today there were 639 inpatients in Ontario hospitals, a sharp increase compared to 551 on Monday, but those in ICU fell from 181 to 179. →
TORONTO – Covid-19 hospitalizations in Ontario continue to drop significantly: today there were 1,540 people admitted to hospitals in the province, yesterday they were 1,704, Friday 1,829 and last week as many as 2,493. The number of people in intensive care also dropped from 414 on Saturday to 402 today, although their number could be higher because not all hospitals report their data over the weekend. Italy is breathing again. After months with a very high number of Covid-19 infections and, unfortunately, of victims, the trend has reversed and just today the ‘control room’ of the government led by Mario Draghi has decided to relax the restrictions. But let’s go in order. →
