Alberta, two thousand cases in one day. The doctors: “Immediate military aid”

EDMONTON – Scary numbers. Alberta, which until a few days ago was “stay open for good”, registered 2,020 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday (out of a total of 17,000 tests carried out). A huge amount, considering that Alberta has just over 4.3 million inhabitants. To make a comparison: today Italy, which has over 60 million inhabitants, recorded 3,838 new cases (out of a total of 263,571 swabs analyzed). 

Covid-19, exceeded six thousand active cases in Ontario

TORONTO – The average of about 700 new daily cases of Covid-19 in Ontario is confirmed: today, the province recorded 694 infections (down from 740 on Sunday but up from 639 last Monday), out of a total of 18,561 tests processed, with a positive test that reached 3.6%, the highest ever seen in almost three months. The seven-day moving average is now 696, up from 581 a week ago. And for the first time since June 11, the number of active cases in Ontario today exceeded 6,000. 

Ontario over 700 cases, Alberta breaks through one thousand

TORONTO – They undulate, but remain around 700: this is now the average of new daily infections in Ontario. Today 740 were recorded, fewer than 835 on Saturday but up from 722 on last Sunday. The weekly average, to be precise, is now 688, compared to 564 a week ago. Of the new cases recorded today, 551 involve people who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 189 those who are fully vaccinated.
