For the last two days in a row, health officials in the UK logged over 32,000 new infections, numbers not seen since January. Of the cumulative 5 million confirmed positive cases, 86.6% are considered recovered. Since yesterday, Covid-related deaths increased by 35, brining total fatalities to 128,336.
Globally, over 185 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 170 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.0 million worldwide.
