On Thursday, health officials in Italy logged over 5,000 new infections, numbers not seen since May. Of the cumulative 4.3 million confirmed positive cases, 95.8% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 15, brining the total number of fatalities to 127,980.
Globally, over 192 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 175 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.1 million worldwide.
