On Saturday, health officials in Portugal logged 2,571 new infections pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 1.0 million. Of the cumulative total, 93.8% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 12, bringing the total number of fatalities to 17,549.
Globally, over 206 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 185 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.3 million worldwide.
