On Wednesday, health officials in Italy logged 7,547 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 4.5 million. Of the cumulative total, 94.1% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 59, bringing the total number of fatalities to 128,914.
Globally, over 212 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 191 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.4 million worldwide.
