On Tuesday, health officials in Bangladesh logged 3,357 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 1.5 million. Of the cumulative total, 95.9% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 86, bringing the total number of fatalities to 26,195.
Globally, over 217 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 195 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.5 million worldwide.
According to health officials in Ontario, 3 of the 5 Covid-related fatalities reported on August 31, occurred more than two months ago.
