On Thursday, health officials in the UK logged 36,480 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 7.8 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 81.0% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 137, bringing the total number of fatalities to 136,662.
Globally, over 233 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 211 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.7 million worldwide.
