On Sunday, health officials in Italy logged 2,278 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 4.7 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 95.4% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 27, bringing the total number of fatalities to 131,301.
Globally, over 237 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 215 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.8 million worldwide.
Spain has not updated the status of Covid-19 cases since October 8, 2021
