On Saturday, health officials in the UK logged nearly 45,000 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 8.7 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 81.5% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 135, bringing the total number of fatalities to 139,461.
Globally, over 243 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 221 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.9 million worldwide.
Spain has not updated data for Covid-19 cases since October 22, 2021.
Figures for Germany do not reflect complete data for October 23, 2021.
